xBite Privacy Notice
Effective Date: May 1, 20261. About This Notice
This Privacy Notice describes how xBite ("xBite", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, retains, and safeguards information when you access our mobile apps, websites, web experiences, and related online features (together, the "Service").
xBite is a non-commercial video streaming and communication service. Eligible users can create an account, use the Service on iOS and the web, start or join video streams, and communicate through chat and other community features.
This Notice is incorporated into the xBite Terms of Use. Any capitalized term not explained here has the meaning assigned to it in those Terms.
When you use the Service, you acknowledge that you have reviewed this Notice and understand the practices described below. If you disagree with these practices, please do not use the Service and, where relevant, delete your account and uninstall the app.
The Service is available only to people who are at least eighteen (18), or who have reached the higher age of majority required where they live.
2. Data We Receive and Collect
What we collect depends on the features you use, the choices you make, and the settings you select. We limit collection to information reasonably needed for the purposes stated in this Notice.
Account details. When you register or maintain an account, we may receive your username, display name, email, login or authentication identifiers, profile image or avatar, birth date or age confirmation, preferred language, and other optional profile information you decide to add.
Content and communications. We may process material you create, upload, send, show, or transmit through the Service, such as streams, chat messages, profile details, photos, posts, comments, reports, support requests, and related metadata. Content you choose to publish or share may be visible to other users.
Device and technical data. This may include your IP address, device model, operating system, browser, app version, language, time zone, device identifiers, network details, crash information, logs, and performance diagnostics.
Activity data. We may record how the Service is used, including sign-in times, session length, viewed pages or features, stream and chat interactions, settings, searches, referral source, moderation events, reports, and other operational events needed to run and improve the Service.
General location. We may estimate your country, region, or city from an IP address or device settings. Precise GPS location is not collected unless a feature clearly asks for it and you choose to grant access.
Cookies and related tools. Our websites and web-based features, along with service providers acting for us, may use cookies, SDKs, local storage, pixels, and comparable technologies to maintain sessions, remember choices, protect the Service, measure performance, and understand aggregated usage.
Trust and moderation data. To apply our Terms and community rules, we may examine reports, flagged material, stream or chat metadata, limited content excerpts, screenshots, or other evidence needed to investigate abuse, security incidents, unlawful conduct, or misuse.
3. Data We Do Not Seek
xBite does not deliberately ask for or collect sensitive personal information unless it is needed for a legitimate safety, legal, or compliance purpose. Please avoid placing sensitive information in profiles, streams, chats, or support messages unless we expressly request it for a lawful reason.
We do not intentionally build biometric templates, identify people biometrically, or use facial geometry for identification. Your image or voice may appear in video content you elect to share, but that content is not used by us to create biometric identifiers.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that a minor has submitted personal information through the Service, we will take reasonable measures to remove it.
4. Why We Use Information
We process information for the following purposes:
To operate and support the Service, including registration, authentication, video streaming, chat delivery, settings, notifications, and access through iOS and web environments.
To protect users, accounts, and the Service by identifying spam, abuse, unauthorized access, harmful material, platform misuse, and breaches of our Terms or community rules.
To send service communications, including account messages, security warnings, support replies, feature changes, and revisions to legal terms or policies.
To provide support and address questions, technical reports, complaints, requests, and appeals.
To evaluate and improve reliability, functionality, accessibility, safety, and performance through crash data, errors, feature activity, and aggregated patterns.
To tailor basic functions such as language, interface preferences, account settings, and relevant in-service suggestions based on how you use xBite.
To meet legal obligations, respond to valid legal process, enforce our agreements, defend claims, and protect the rights, property, and safety of xBite, our users, and the public.
5. Our Legal Grounds
Where applicable privacy law requires a lawful basis, our processing relies on one or more of these grounds:
Performance of a contract, where data is necessary to provide the Service, administer your account, deliver streams and chats, offer support, or enforce the Terms.
Legitimate interests, where processing is reasonably required to secure the Service, prevent misuse, assess performance, improve features, protect legal rights, and support a safe community, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent, where the law calls for it, including for certain cookies, device permissions, optional functions, or permission-based communications.
Compliance with law, where information must be processed to satisfy legislation, regulatory duties, legal proceedings, or valid demands from authorized public bodies.
6. When Information Is Shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. We also do not disclose it for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information may be disclosed only in the circumstances outlined below:
Vendors and processors. We may provide information to contractors and infrastructure partners that support hosting, cloud storage, real-time audio and video, content delivery, analytics, crash reporting, security, moderation, authentication, customer support, and push notifications. They may process data only under our instructions and appropriate confidentiality and security commitments.
Platform operators. When xBite is accessed through Apple, a browser, an operating system, or another platform, that platform may handle certain technical information under its own terms and privacy notice.
Other participants. Material you post, stream, display, send, or otherwise share may be available to other users or viewers according to the feature and your selected settings.
Law, security, and safety. We may disclose information when we reasonably and in good faith consider it necessary to follow the law, respond to valid legal process or enforceable government demands, apply our Terms, investigate fraud or abuse, address security issues, or protect xBite, users, or the public.
Corporate transactions. If the Service or relevant assets are involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, or similar transaction, information may transfer as part of that process, with safeguards and notice where legally required.
At your request. We may disclose information when you instruct us to do so or otherwise give valid consent.
7. Cookies, Analytics, and Related Tools
Cookies and comparable technologies help us run and protect web-based parts of xBite, keep sessions active, remember preferences, review aggregated activity, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve reliability.
Analytics data shows whether the Service is functioning as expected, which functions are used, and where performance or crash problems arise. We use those insights to improve both the Service and the user experience.
Most browsers let you manage cookies. Device permissions and available analytics or tracking choices can also be adjusted through your operating system or device settings. Disabling a cookie or permission may cause some features to function differently or become unavailable.
Because browsers do not follow one consistent industry standard for "Do Not Track" signals, we honor privacy choices through controls made available by applicable law, the Service, your browser, or your device.
8. Shared Content and Public Spaces
xBite is built around streaming, chat, and community participation. Anything you choose to reveal in a stream, chat, profile, post, comment, or other public or partly public space may be seen, copied, saved, or shared again by other people, depending on the feature and your settings.
Choose carefully before posting. Do not share contact details, private images, personal information, or other material you would not want other users to access.
When you report content or another account, we may review the report, related metadata, and relevant material to investigate and decide what action is appropriate.
9. How Long We Keep Data
We retain personal information only for the period reasonably required to fulfill the purposes in this Notice, unless law permits or requires a longer period.
Account and profile details are normally kept while your account is active. Following account deletion, we generally delete or anonymize those details within 30 days, unless continued retention is required for legal, security, or abuse-prevention purposes.
Where technically practicable, content and communications linked to a deleted account are generally removed or anonymized within 30 days, subject to backup cycles, safety reviews, and legal obligations.
Moderation, safety, and abuse-prevention records may remain for up to 90 days, and longer when necessary to investigate serious breaches, prevent recurring abuse, comply with law, or defend legal claims.
Technical logs, device information, and diagnostics are generally deleted or anonymized within 180 days unless security, fraud prevention, service integrity, or legal needs justify keeping them longer.
Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the matter and preserve an accurate interaction record, ordinarily no more than 24 months unless a legal or safety reason calls for additional retention.
Limited information may persist in backups for a brief additional period until it is overwritten through normal backup rotation.
10. Your Data Protection Choices
Your location may give you specific rights over personal information, which can include:
Access: confirming whether we process your information and obtaining a copy.
Correction: asking us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Deletion: requesting erasure, subject to applicable legal, safety, and technical exceptions.
Restriction: asking us to limit particular processing operations.
Objection: objecting to processing based on legitimate interests or to certain communications.
Portability: receiving eligible information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
Consent withdrawal: withdrawing consent for future processing where consent is the legal basis, without affecting processing already carried out.
Appeal and complaint: appealing an applicable decision about your request and submitting a complaint to the competent data protection authority.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may verify your identity before acting. We will answer within the timeframe required by law, generally 30 days unless a permitted extension applies.
We will not deny access, reduce service quality, or otherwise penalize you solely because you exercised a legally protected privacy right.
California residents may ask for information available under relevant California privacy laws, including categories collected, data sources, purposes, recipient categories, and covered disclosures. Send a request to [email protected] with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line and enough information for verification and processing.
11. Cross-Border Processing
xBite and the providers that support it may operate in more than one country. As a result, information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed outside the country where you reside.
When the law requires it, we rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, comparable contractual protections, or another valid transfer mechanism.
Privacy rules in a destination country may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Even so, we handle information according to this Notice and the laws that apply to us.
12. Keeping Information Secure
We maintain reasonable organizational and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse, or destruction. Depending on the circumstances, these safeguards may include access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, logging, internal limitations, and confidentiality duties.
No device, network, transmission, or internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. Although absolute security is not possible, we work to use measures appropriate to the information involved and the relevant risks.
You must keep credentials confidential, use appropriately secured devices and networks, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access. Security concerns can be sent to [email protected].
If an incident triggers a legal notification duty, we will notify affected people and relevant authorities as required.
13. External Links and Services
The Service may link to external websites, platforms, software, communities, or services. This Notice does not govern services operated by third parties outside our control.
When you use an external login, interact with another service, or share xBite content elsewhere, the third party may process information under its own terms and privacy practices. Review those documents before providing information.
14. Age Limits and Minor Users
xBite is not offered to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly permit minors to register or intentionally collect their personal information.
If you believe a minor submitted personal information through the Service, email [email protected]. Once verified, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
15. Updates to This Notice
We may revise this Notice as laws, technology, Service features, or our information practices change.
For material revisions, we will give notice by email, in the app, on our website, or through another method permitted by law. The revised Notice will show its effective date. Continued use after that date confirms that you acknowledge the revised Notice.
